Traditional approaches to osteoporosis management often focus on medication alone. However, medication can come with side effects, and exercise is crucial for building strong bones and preventing falls.

Introducing ONERO, the evidence-based exercise program designed specifically for individuals with low bone density. Developed by experts at Griffith University, ONERO utilises a combination of high-intensity resistance training and impact exercises to stimulate bone growth and improve balance.

Supervision is essential.

ONERO™ builds bone and muscle strength via a bone-targeted, high-intensity resistance and impact exercise program. This innovative intervention requires supervision by accredited professionals (exercise physiologists or physiotherapists) for safe and effective delivery. Data collected from initial DXA scans, and attendance and execution of classes, over a 12-month period, are cross referenced to ensure high clinical improvements in bone mineral density (BMD) occur as a result of participation.

CCA places safety at its core. Prior to embarking on ONERO™, we will conduct clinical assessments/screening to determine it is suitable for each participant and, if so, work to prevent injury or the worsening of existing secondary conditions.

Close supervision by an ONERO™ accredited exercise physiologist is another essential. The risk of injuries is always a concern for people who are frail, have complex comorbidities, are elderly with balance concerns, or those who have not been exposed to strength training. However, once screened and the appropriate readiness steps have occurred, injuries during supervised ONERO™ training classes are rare.

Pre-ONERO™

Pre-ONERO™ is a beginner’s class that will ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to participate safely. We offer the Pre-ONERO™ class as a means of developing all the specific skill(s) required to maximise the safety and efficacy of this program. Only book these classes if they have been personally assigned to you by an accredited exercise physiologist.

ONERO™

ONERO™ is a flagship exercise program that’s specifically designed to improve bone mass, muscle strength and balance, and thereby help to prevent falls and fractures. Born from the successful LIFTMOR trial, ONERO™ integrates high-intensity lifting exercises with balance-enhancing routines. While ONERO™ lifting exercises alone lower fall risks, the added balance workouts significantly amplify this effect. Strengthen bones, improve balance, and safeguard against falls with ONERO™.
